R & A Enterprises communicated the following to all of its employees:
I am sure all of you are aware of the recent Coronavirus outbreak in the Valley and globally. As of now, R&A will plan on normal work schedules and keep business as usual. We will re-evaluate on a daily basis as everyone continues to monitor the latest information available. We plan on following the lead of all Municipalities and State mandates in regard to Coronavirus. In the meantime, in an effort to keep everyone safe and productive, we will be implementing some basic infection preventive measures.
UPDATED JUNE 30, 2020:
-First and foremost take care of your family and yourself.
-Practice social distancing, maintaining 6’ distance from others when possible.
-No handshakes or other greetings that involve touching.
-Wear a mask in public; on job sites; in the office and maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more.
-Promote frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 sec. and/or using alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60% alcohol.
-IF YOU DON’T HAVE A MASK: Encourage respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes. If possible, use a tissue to cover up and immediately throw tissue into a waste basket.
-Discourage workers from using other workers’ tools, phones, equipment, when possible.
-Maintain regular housekeeping practices, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, equipment, and other elements of the work environment.
-Please let us know if you need anything: masks or hand sanitizers. Try to stay away from people on job sites or in the office unless it is completely necessary. If you do need to visit with your project supervisor please wear your masks around the offices and shop.
-Stay home if we are sick
The virus spreads easily from person to person. Please stay home for 14-days if you’ve had contact with a confirmed case or potentially infected person.
-Refresh ourselves on proper cough and sneeze hygiene
Cover your nose or mouth with a tissue or your elbow — not your hand — and discard the tissue immediately after.
-Wash our hands regularly
Proper hand washing remains the best way to prevent transmission of the virus. Wash your hands after using the restroom, touching your face, eating, drinking, coughing, or sneezing, and at regular intervals throughout the day. Use warm soapy water and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, or the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice. Alternatively, alcohol-based hand sanitizer is effective as well. Maybe every other hour.
-Stop touching our faces
Fomites — objects that we commonly touch — are the main way the disease is spreading. Reduce the chance of transmission from a fomite, like a doorknob, by keeping your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
-Rely on virtual communication when possible
In an effort to cut down on human-to-human contact, please cancel in-person meetings and communicate via videoconferencing or phone calls. Field personnel, if you need to communicate with your PM or someone in the office, please do it via phone, email, or texting. If a meeting needs to take place please schedule it through your PM and myself. If tools are needed, please schedule with Tony down in the shop and try to limit that to one visit per week.
-Materials need to be ordered in advance All materials need to be delivered to the jobs or call in advance and have them set out for you to pick up at their docking areas. Most of the supply houses are closing there counters from what I have seen today.
Of all these measures, we cannot stress enough the importance of staying home when you’re sick. Please do your part to keep everyone safe and healthy by refraining from coming into work with symptoms even if you “feel fine.”
There are probably many more things to say but with our outstanding media coverage on this topic I am sure you have all heard many more things.
